Aviation
EXOCOAT™ technologies bring advanced surface functions (such as corrosion protection, easy-to-clean performance, and hydrophobic or oleophobic behavior) to aviation components.
EXOCOAT™’s sol-gel technology chemically bonds to aerospace-grade aluminum alloys (2024/7075), creating lightweight, aviation-standard protective layers for corrosion resistance. Sol-gel technology safeguards aluminum against pitting, oxidation, and long-term aging, improving structural longevity.
EXOCOAT™ solutions also support functional surfaces (water-repellent, self-cleaning, antimicrobial, or anti-smudge) tailored to cockpit glass, interior panels, and equipment interfaces.

Key Application Areas
Smart and functional coatings add advanced capabilities to surfaces, such as self-cleaning, corrosion resistance, or energy efficiency, helping products perform better and last longer.
They also support sustainability by reducing maintenance needs and environmental impact, making them a smart choice for modern industries and consumers.

Chromium replacement
Sol-gel coatings have emerged as eco-friendly alternatives to toxic hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)) conversion layers, as used in the aerospace industry, offering excellent corrosion protection without environmental risks.
EXOCOAT™ AC is a sol-gel hybrid coating that chemically bonds to aluminum surfaces, forming a durable oxide barrier that resists corrosion and aging.
It is specifically engineered to protect aerospace-grade alloys like Alu 2024 and Alu 7075, which are prone to pitting and galvanic corrosion.
When used in a full system ;sol-gel layer, epoxy primer, and polyurethane topcoat; EXOCOAT™ AC meets stringent aviation standards for durability and chemical resistance.
This advanced coating system ensures long-term performance and compliance with aerospace norms, supporting safer and more sustainable aircraft manufacturing.
Aviation Glass
Aviation glass faces constant stress from rain, dust, chemicals, and rapid temperature changes, all of which can dull clarity and increase cleaning needs. EXOCOAT™ ClearView solves this by forming a transparent ceramic layer that chemically bonds to aircraft glass, delivering strong hydrophobic and oleophobic performance with contact angles near 120°. Water beads and rolls off instantly, improving visibility in wet conditions and reducing reliance on wipers. The coating resists UV, chemicals, abrasion, and mechanical wear, ensuring long-lasting clarity even under aerospace-level stress. It also minimizes fingerprints and smudges on cockpit and cabin glass; confirmed during aviation-glass testing. With its invisible finish and durable protection, EXOCOAT™ ClearView keeps aviation glass cleaner, clearer, and easier to maintain flight after flight.
