Halamid

Axcentive was invited to send a keynote speaker to the IX International Scientific Conference «Poultry 2013» in Ukraine. Also we were requested to present The Universal Disinfectant at a Poultry Symposium in Poland sponsored by Lab-Vet, a leading veterinary practise and also distributor of Halamid® and other para-veterinary products.

Axcentive will be exhibiting Halamid® at VIV Europe from 20-22 May 2014 in Utrecht (NL). This year VIV Europe will have more focus on the poultry industry, which is an extremely important market sector for our Universal Disinfectant.

Halamid® has a long and well established reputation in the poultry industry which it has served for over 50 years as a terminal disinfectant. Today the product finds widespread application in the poultry market, mainly applied by high pressure spray in growing houses but also by misting and fogging in both barns and hatcheries. Halamid®® is also embraced by breed stock and poultry research institutions with ultra-clean zones, for surface disinfection and egg-dipping.

Axcentive will use the VIV platform to communicate and reinforce the unique advantages of Halamid® in poultry disinfection, including its mild features: safety to operators, non-toxicity to chicks, biodegradability and non-corrosivity, which is singular in combination with its renowned broad activity spectrum. Halamid® is a powerful disinfectant which can be used throughout the year without rotation, and has even been shown to be more stable than other leading oxidative disinfectants in slightly dirty conditions.

Axcentive will take the opportunity at VIV Europe in 2014 to remind the market of all those benefits as well as bringing that message to those in the poultry industry who have not yet discovered the brand!

The United States FDA concluded in relation to the use of Halamid® Pharma Grade in treating Bacterial Gill Diseases and external Columnaris disease, that our production line for Halamid® Pharma grade is complying with Good Manufacturing Practice based on their audit in 2011.

This is not only underlining the quality of our operations, but it is also a big leap towards final approval of our animal drug application (NADA) which will cover freshwater reared salmonids and finfish in the United States only. In many other countries a similar application is covered by biocidal regulations.

Halamid® is not as aggressive as many other disinfectants which means it is easier to use and safe for equipment and environment. Most other oxidative activity. In a poultry house, a contact time of 30 minutes or longer, allows for a high dilution while still obtaining excellent hygiene scores. But in for example a foot bath, pathogens should be killed much faster. Therefore we have tested Halamid® at 5 minutes contact time against a number of relevant viruses (Vaccinia, BVDV, MNV) and at high soiling conditions. In all cases Halamid® passed the test at 1 % use solution (10 C). Halamid® has the unique ability to remain active over a long time, but when time is short it does still provide the necessary biosecurity.

Axcentive® will be presenting its Halamid® – universal disinfectant at the well-known livestock show Eurotier. This year we partner up with our distributor Dr. Schumacher GmbH and JBS in one big stand. Several technical and commercial staff from Axcentive will be available to talk to farmers, veterinarians, distributors and other interested parties from all over Europe and beyond.

Axcentive are actively working on several new registrations in Europe. Arno Schut, Technical Manager adds: “We have tested Halamid® against viruses not tested before with excellent results and we can now even also offer a Halamid® Pharma grade with US FDA GMP approval which is a great testimony to the quality of our product”.

Axcentive® SARL and Zagro Vietnam are excited to announce they will cooperate on the future sales and market development of Axcentive’s disinfectant product Halamid® in Vietnam. Zagro is a Singapore mainboard public-listed company and very experienced in providing Agrisolutions to farmers in agriculture and animal husbandry mainly in Asia. It manufactures and distributes a wide range of nutrition and protection products for livestock, aquatic animals and crops. Zagro Vietnam was incorporated in 2010 as the result of an acquisition. Zagro has an aggressive growth strategy and was looking for a flagship disinfectant which Halamid® promises to be.

Zagro’s premises are located in Dong Nai province, close to Ho Chi Minh city and the Mekong delta where much of the aquaculture activity is concentrated. Apart from marketing Halamid® in the livestock segment, experts of both companies will start field trials in fish farms in order to fine tune disinfection protocols to local conditions and create local brand awareness in the country where aquaculture plays such a big role.

Halamid® is frequently being tested against the latest norms for its killing effect on pathogenic viruses and bacteria. The standards for testing evolve quickly, especially now that the new harmonized European biocide law asks for unambiguous efficacy data. Recently we tested against the ECBO virus. Because of its resistance, this virus is often seen as the reference for virucide activity in the veterinary segment. Halamid® passed the test (min. log 4 reduction) at both 10 and 20 degrees C at high level soiling. Further proof that Halamid® is mild and powerful!

Axcentive is delighted to inform you that we have found Mr. Vernon Fretwell – Biosecurity Consultancy (Thai), available to team up with us starting early 2012.

Vernon works full time for Axcentive, from his base in Bangkok, Thailand. He will support and drive – together with Axcentive’s executive director Paul van Lenthe and other members of the Axcentive Team – the further development of the market for the Universal Disinfectant Halamid® in the fast growing Southeast Asian aquaculture markets. Vernon is member of the Poultry Industry Register UK and has a 25 year long experience related to biosecurity in both livestock and aquaculture markets in Asia. He has the English nationality and spends most of his time in SE Asia. From his base in Bangkok he will cover amongst others Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, The Philippines and of course Thailand.

Axcentive have signed an agreement with PT Farmadika Sejahtera Indonesia, in short FSI, for the exclusive distribution of Halamid® – the universal disinfectant to the Indonesian livestock markets. Marketing Director Freddie Hadiwibowo is delighted as he has been looking for ways to distribute Halamid® for some time. Axcentive is glad to team up with such knowledgeable and reputable team. Freddie and FSI are already familiar with Indonesian biosecurity markets and with the strong technical back up from Axcentive, both companies are confident that sales of Halamid® in Indonesian livestock markets will soon expand.

Axcentive SARL from France is bringing Halamid®- the universal disinfectant to the attention of the Asian Aquaculture stake holders. Microorganisms such as Vibrio spp, Flavobacteria, Icthyopthirius multifilus, Saprolegnia and many more  are effectively eliminated with the help of this powder disinfectant, also a common ingredient in livestock biosecurity measures. Halamid® is also recommended for nauplii disinfection. Tested in laboratories and used in farms around the globe under various circumstances for water treatment as well as surface disinfection (tank, equipment, etc), Halamid® proved reliable, safe and environmentally friendly.  We are looking for a closer cooperation with key distributors in the region bringing hygiene as well as profit to higher levels.
